Pacific beats Pepperdine, 73-55

MALIBU, Calif. Chad Troyer made 7-of-14 shots to score a season-high 17 points and James Doran added 12 for Pacific during a 73-55 win against Pepperdine on Saturday afternoon.

The Tigers (5-3) tied a school record with 16 steals and shot 45 percent from the field.

Pacific built on its six-point halftime lead by out-scoring the Waves 21-5 to open the second half.

Freshman guard Keion Bell, who came off the bench for the first time this season, had 13 points and Mychel Thompson added 10 points for Pepperdine. The Waves (1-8) committed a season-high 24 turnovers and haven’t won a game since Nov. 14.

Pepperdine trailed by as many as 12 in the first half, but scored six unanswered points to trim Pacific’s lead at halftime to 34-28.

The Tigers scored 15 points off the Waves’ 14 turnovers and had 12 steals in the opening 20 minutes.
