LORMAN, Miss. (AP)—Troy Jackson scored 20 points to lead Alcorn State to a 70-60 win over Tougaloo College on Saturday.
Jarvis Williams had 16 points and 14 rebounds for Alcorn State (2-6). Gifford Blakely chipped in with 11 points and nine rebounds. The win was the second straight victory for the Braves after losing their first six contests.
Jeremy Cable finished with 25 points and eight rebounds for the Bulldogs (6-4). Keith Fisher added 10 points.
Alcorn State shot 37.5 percent from the field (24-for-64), but made 77.8 percent of their shots from the free-throw line (21-for-27). Tougaloo converted on 47.1 percent of their free-throw attempts (8-for-17).
The Braves outrebounded the Bulldogs 50-40.
