HANOVER, N.H. (AP)—Zahir Carrington had 15 points and 14 rebounds to lead Lehigh to a 73-60 victory over Dartmouth on Saturday.
After a slow start, Dave Buchberger, who had 11 points, got Lehigh (5-1) going with a driving layup and a 3-pointer on consecutive possessions.
Dartmouth (1-4) kept pace until backup guard Prentice Small led a 10-2 run with two assists and a driving layup to help the Mountain Hawks to a 33-20 halftime lead.
Dartmouth never got closer than 9 points as Lehigh held Alex Barnett, Dartmouth’s leading scorer, to 4 of 19 shooting and nine points—14 below his average.
Dan Biber led Dartmouth with 15 points, including 10 in the final 5 minutes.
Dartmouth shot 9 of 17 from the free throw line, while Lehigh hit 23 of 27 shots.
