HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP)—Mike Rose scored 17 points—including three 3-pointers — and pulled down nine rebounds as Eastern Kentucky beat Fairleigh Dickinson 83-47 Friday night in the Legends Classic.
Josh Taylor came off the bench to add 13 points for the Colonels (3-2), while Papa Oppong added 12. Cameron Tyler had 12 points and six rebounds to lead the Knights (0-4), while Sean Baptiste added 11 points and five boards.
The teams traded baskets early on before Eastern Kentucky took command with a 7-1 run midway through the first half. They then closed out the half with an 11-1 run that gave them a 41-24 lead at the break.
FDU then tried to rally, outscoring the Colonels 13-11 over the first 10 minutes of the second half, but Eastern Kentucky soon pulled away with a 20-5 run.
