INDIANAPOLIS (AP)—Alex Young scored 20 points, and IUPUI defeated Eastern Illinois 67-60 on Tuesday night at Conseco Fieldhouse.
Leroy Nobles added 19 points for the Jaguars (3-2) in their first-ever win at Conseco in three tries.
Tyler Laser scored 17 points, Ousmane Cisse had 11 points and 10 rebounds and Romain Martin added 10 points for Eastern Illinois (1-3).
The score was tied when Young hit a 3-pointer with 7 seconds left in the first half to give the Jaguars a 35-32 lead at the break.
Eastern rallied, and led several times early in the second half. IUPUI took the lead for good on another 3-pointer by Young. Billy Pettiford followed with a jumper to give the Jaguars a 48-44 lead with 13:59 to play.
IUPUI led by as many as nine points in the second half. The Jaguars shot 50 percent after the break.
