CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP)—Cameron Wells scored 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as The Citadel defeated Charleston Southern 84-80 on Tuesday night.
Wells scored 22 points in the first half to spark a 36-30 lead at halftime.
The Citadel (3-2) hit 52.8 percent (28 of 43)of its field goals, including 7 of 11 by Wells.
Demetrius Nelson added 11 points in 15 minutes for the Bulldogs.
The Buccaneers (2-3) had three players score in double figures as Jamarco Warren had 25, Omar Carter scored 20 and Kelvin Martin added 16 points and 10 rebounds.
The Citadel’s bench outscored Charleston Southern’s 21-16 with eight by Zach Urbanus.
