CLINTON, S.C. (AP)—Al’Lonzo Coleman hit the game-winning shot with 3.9 seconds remaining on his way to scoring a game-high 22 points to lead Presbyterian to a 47-46 victory over San Jose State on Monday night.
Coleman, who also had 13 rebounds, scored off his own miss under the basket to cap a stretch in which he scored nine of the Blue Hose’s final 14 points.
His three-point play with 32 seconds remaining in the game pulled Presbyterian to 46-45. San Jose State’s Tim Pierce missed the front end of a 1-and-1 with 14 seconds remaining, giving Presbyterian an opportunity for the final shot.
Coleman was the only Presbyterian (1-3) player in double figures.
The Blue Hose overcame a 24-19 halftime deficit by outscoring the Spartans (2-2) 28-22 in the second half.
Pierce scored 14 points and C.J. Webster added 11 points for San Jose State.
