YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP)—DeAndre Mays scored a game-high 19 points and Vytas Sulskis had 13 as Youngstown State beat Division III rival Allegheny 96-59 Saturday night.
Jack Liles and Kelvin Bright added 12 points apiece and Liles had a game-high 13 rebounds for the Penguins (1-2).
Allegheny (1-2) was led by Craig Devinney’s 12 points. Charlie Jaicks added 10 points and Donte Brisco had 10 rebounds.
The Penguins, leading 20-15 midway through the first half, went on a 17-3 run to lead 37-18 with 2:10 left until halftime.
Youngstown State led 39-25 at halftime and scored 43 points off Allegheny’s 29 turnovers. The Penguins had 10 turnovers.
Allegheny plays in the North Coast Athletic Conference of NCAA Division III. It was the seventh meeting between the teams, and the first since 1935.
