STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP)—Jamal Smith scored a game-high 21 points as Wagner rallied for a 65-62 victory over Stony Brook on Saturday.
Joey Mudweiler added 17 points for the Seahawks (2-1), who held a 32-28 lead at halftime. Llewchean Radford had 11 points.
Tommy Brenton had 15 points and game-high 10 rebounds for the Patriots (1-2), and Chris Martin and Dalles Joyner each had 14 points.
Smith’s two foul shots closed out a 7-0 run that gave the visitors a 53-46 advantage at 6:40 of the second half.
Brenton’s three-point play finished off an 8-0 rally that put Stony Brook ahead 54-53, but Smith scored all six points during a run that helped Wagner finish off the game.
