BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP)—Chris Gadley had 22 points and 8 rebounds to lead Canisius to its first win of the season, 76-63, over Long Island University on Saturday.
Gadley went 8-of-10 from the floor for Canisius (1-2), including a pair of 3-pointers. Frank Turner added 20 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists.
Michael Culpo led Long Island (1-2) with 13 points.
Kyle Johnson, who scored 23 points in each of Long Island’s two opening games, was held to 12 points and 7 rebounds. Ron Manigault grabbed 10 boards and 8 points.
Canisius led 34-26 at halftime, while Long Island shot 8-of-27.
The Blackbirds were 18-of-56 for the game (32.1 percent), while the Golden Griffins were 25-of-54 from the floor and 20-of-34 from the foul line.
