Moore powers SE Missouri over Culver-Stockton

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP)—Kenard Moore scored 24 points and four other Redhawks finished in double figures as Southeast Missouri beat Culver-Stockton 89-50 on Friday night.

Lamont Russell came off the bench to score 11 points and grab a game-high 11 rebounds for Southeast Missouri (1-2). The Redhawks also got 17 points from Jaycen Herring, 16 from Johnny Hill and 14 from Calvin Williams.

Culver-Stockton (0-6) was led by Brice Fantazia and Phil Peugh with 12 points apiece.

The Wildcats trailed 44-32 at halftime after a fairly competitive first period. But they suffered from cold shooting throughout the game, hitting 7-of-28 from 3-point range and shooting 30 percent overall from the field.

Southeast Missouri shot better than 53 percent from the field and took advantage of Culver-Stockton errors, scoring 21 points off turnovers. The Redhawks also outrebounded the visitors 44-28.
