SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP)—Demarre Carroll scored 15 points and Leo Lyons had 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead Missouri to an 87-59 victory over Fairfield on Friday in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Puerto Rico Tip Off.
Matt Lawrence added 14 points for the Tigers (3-1), going 4-for-6 on 3-pointers.
Warren Edney scored 13 points to lead the Stags (1-3), and Herbie Allen and Greg Nero added 12 points apiece.
Missouri trailed by nine points just under eight minutes into the first half, but rallied to take a 40-29 lead at the break. The Tigers’ biggest lead came with 3:47 to play, when they led by 29 points.
They shot 50 percent from the field, 38.1 percent on 3-pointers, and outrebounded Fairfield 47-29. The Stags shot 41.8 percent and made only 3 of 16 3-pointers (18.8 percent).
