BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP)—Warren Edney scored 14 points to lead Fairfield to a 68-54 defeat of Sacred Heart on Tuesday night.
The Stags (1-1) never trailed, starting with Jonathan Han’s 3-pointer 30 seconds into the game, and rolled to an easy win in the second meeting between the Fairfield-based schools.
Ryan Olander hit a 3-pointer at 14:22 of the second half to give Fairfield a 48-36 lead and the Stags enjoyed a double-digit edge the rest of the way.
Han added 11 points as the Stags placed four players in double figures. Greg Nero had 13 points and Anthony Johnson had 12 with eight rebounds.
Joey Henley led SHU (0-2) with 18 points. Ryon Howard added 11. Mehmet Sahan scored back-to-back baskets in the paint for SHU’s only points in the final four minutes. He finished with 8 points.
