EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP)—James Haarsma scored 13 points off the bench to lead Evansville to a 75-51 victory over Oakland City on Tuesday night.
Shy Ely and Kaylon Williams scored 12 each for the Purple Aces (2-0), who never trailed. Jason Holsinger had 10 points.
Evansville, which led 33-25 at halftime, outscored the Mighty Oaks 31-16 off turnovers and 36-12 off the bench. The Purple Aces shot 43.3 percent from the field compared with Oakland City’s 32.1 percent.
Brandon Hopf scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to pace the Oaks (0-2). Nathan Schumacher backed him up with 10 points, including 6-of-8 free-throw shooting. Hopf was a perfect 4-of-4 on free throws.
