BALTIMORE (AP)— Morgan State held University of Maryland-Baltimore County to 32 percent shooting in the second half during a 67-60 win Monday night.
Reggie Holmes scored 13 points and Kevin Thompson added 12 for the Bears.
The Bears (1-1) paid UMBC (1-1) back for an 84-76 loss when the two teams met last November.
The victory also stretched Morgan State’s home record to 13-0 going back to last season’s run to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference regular-season title.
Darryl Proctor led the way for the Retrievers, scoring 19 points and grabbing eight rebounds. Jay Greene added 11 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.
Thompson led the way in the second half for Morgan State, scoring 10 of his 12 points.
