RICHMOND, Va. (AP)—Kevin Anderson hit seven free throws in the final 25.9 seconds to help Richmond seal a 58-53 win over Fordham on Wednesday night.
The Spiders (16-12, 9-6 Atlantic 10) were down 29-21 at the half but turned on the defense in the second half, holding the Rams (11-16, 5-10) to two field goals over a 13:45 stretch.
Brenton Butler led Fordham with 19 but went 0-8 from the field in the second half.
Richmond was trailing 42-32 following Bryant Dunston’s dunk with 14:02 left. At the 9:43 mark, the Spiders began a 16-5 run.
Anderson finished with 14 and shared scoring honors with Dan Geriot. David Gonzalves added 10.
Anderson hit all but one of eight free throw attempts in the final 25.9.
