VESTAL, N.Y. (AP)—Jon Iati scored 18 points and Brian Lillis added 17 as Albany, N.Y. beat Binghamton 74-62 and took sole possession of third place in the America East Conference Wednesday night.
The Great Danes (14-14 overall, 9-6 AE) shot 56 percent from the field to avenge a 71-57 home loss to Binghamton on Jan. 12.
Iati hit back-to-back 3-pointers in a 10-0 run to end the first half, giving Albany a 31-18 halftime lead. Lillis scored on a conventional three-point play to start a 9-0 run that increased Albany’s lead to 53-38 with 10:17 to play.
Brent Wilson had 12 points and six rebounds for Albany.
Mike Gordon led the Bearcats (13-15, 8-7) with 11 points and eight rebounds, but shot only 3 of 13 from the field.
Lazar Trifunovic and Reggie Fuller each had 10 points for Binghamton.
