HAMDEN, Conn. (AP)—Sacred Heart got double-figure scoring from five players and rallied from eight points down in the second half to defeat Quinnipiac 88-74 on Saturday.
Sacred Heart hit five three-points while scoring on eight straight possessions midway through the second half. The Pioneers’ 18-4 run gave them a 62-54 lead with 8:23 to play, and Quinnipiac didn’t get closer the rest of the way.
Sacred Heart was led by Ryan Litke and Chauncey Hardy with 17 points each.
Brice Brooks had 13, and Gene Pettway added 12. Drew Shubik just missed a triple-double finishing with 10 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds.
DeMario Anderson led the Bobcats with 25 points. The Bobcats outrebounded Sacred Heart 34-28, but committed 21 turnovers while Sacred Heart had just nine.
With the win, the Pioneers (16-11, 13-3) kept their Northeast Conference title hopes alive. They trail the conference leaders by one game with two games to play.
