Lee’s 17 points lead Robert Morris to 73-65 victory over St. Francis, N.Y.
NEW YORK (AP)—Tony Lee scored 17 points and A.J. Jackson added 16 as Robert Morris extended its winning streak to nine games with a 73-65 victory over St. Francis, N.Y. on Saturday.
Jimmy Langhurst added 15 points for the Colonials (21-6, 12-2), who entered the day tied with Wagner for first place in the Northeast Conference.
Robert Hines had 25 points for the Terriers (5-21, 2-13, who have lost nine straight.
Langhurst hit two 3-pointers as Robert Morris scored the game’s first 11 points en route to a 20-2 lead with 11:53 left in the first half. Robert Morris’ biggest lead was 29-7 on a 3 by Langhurst with 7:40 to go in the half.
St. Francis used a 7-0 to get within 50-46 on a layup by Jamal Womack with 9:02 left in the game but Jeremy Chappell’s 3-pointer capped an 8-2 run over next 1:12 that gave the Colonials a 58-48 lead.
