BEAUMONT, Texas (AP)—Kenny Dawkins scored 19 points to lead five Lamar players in double figures in an 80-66 victory over Texas-Arlington on Thursday night.
Lamar scored 29 points off 24 Texas-Arlington turnovers and hit 11 of 30 3-point tries.
All of Dawkins’ field goals came from beyond the 3-point line. He also hit seven of eight free throw attempts.
Justin Nabors scored 14 points, Darren Hopkins added 13, Lamar Sanders had 11 and Brandon McThay 10 points for Lamar (14-8, 8-1 Southland).
Jermaine Griffin came off the bench to score 21 for Texas-Arlington (16-7, 5-5). He hit all 10 of his field goal tries.
Larry Posey added 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Texas-Arlington.
Lamar led 40-28 at the half.
