HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP)—Chris Vann scored 20 points—including six 3-pointers— to lead Mount St. Mary’s to an easy 78-61 win over Fairleigh Dickinson on Thursday night.
Shawn Atupem added 17 points, and Kelly Beidler came off the bench to grab a game-high 12 rebounds for the Mountaineers (12-13, 8-6 Northeast Conference). They shot 50 percent from the field and outrebounded FDU 50-28.
Manny Ubilla had 20 points and five steals and Sean Baptiste finished with 13 points for the Knights (7-16, 3-10), who made just 34.4 percent of their shots.
The Mountaineers were in command for most of the game and held a 38-23 lead at the break. FDU scored the first four points of the second half, but the Mountaineers went on a 15-4 run and were never challenged again, leading by as many as 31 points in the second half.
