STATESBORO, Ga. (AP)—Louis Graham scored 25 points, including two key baskets in the closing minutes, to lead Georgia Southern to an 80-78 win over North Carolina-Greensboro on Monday night.
UNC-Greensboro (13-7 overall, 7-4 Southern Conference) led 76-74 until Matthew Fields hit a tying basket for Georgia Southern (15-8, 8-5) with 3:58 left.
Graham’s basket with 2:53 left gave the Eagles a 78-76 lead. He grabbed an offensive rebound and scored again with 1:54 to play to extend the lead to 80-76.
Kevin Oleksiak’s basket for the Spartans narrowed the margin to 80-78 with 1:18 to play. But Oleksiak missed a shot with a chance to tie the score with 12 seconds left.
Oleksiak led UNC-Greensboro with 20 points, Kyle Hines had 19 and Mikko Koivisto had 17.
Fields scored 14 points and had nine rebounds for Georgia Southern.
