NORFOLK, Va. (AP)—Ben Finney scored 14 points and three teammates added double-digit scoring to lead Old Dominion over Georgia State 73-50 on Saturday.
The Monarchs (11-12, 6-5 Colonial Athletic Association) broke open a back-and-forth game at 6:49 left in the first half, scoring 20 points over the next 6:07 while blanking the Panthers (6-15, 3-8).
Leonard Mendez, who led Georgia State with 14 points, hit a 3-pointer to end the drought but the Panthers were down 39-20 at the half.
Gerald Lee, who had 10 points, dunked at 9:57 of the second half to put Old Dominion up 60-35 and the Monarchs coasted the rest of the way.
Brian Henderson scored 12 and Frank Hassell added 10 for Old Dominion. The team hit 9-of-17 three pointers.
Michael Moynihan was the only other Panther in double figures with 10.
