BATON ROUGE, La. (AP)—Andrew Hayles scored 14 points to lead Alabama State to a 59-44 Southwestern Athletic Conference win Monday night against Southern University.
Joel Bosh and Brandon Brooks each added 12 for the Hornets (10-7, 6-1 SWAC).
Alabama State got 28 points from its bench compared to just 12 for Southern.
The Jaguars (7-12, 5-2) were led by Steffon Wiley’s 11 points. He was the only Southern University player to score in double figures.
Alabama State led at the half, 30-20.
