CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP)—Maze Stallworth and Jamyron Steward scored 21 points apiece Thursday night to lead Morehead State to an 82-78 victory over Southeast Missouri.
Morehead State (9-9, 7-4 Ohio Valley) took a 34-22 halftime lead and was ahead by double digits for most of the second half.
The Redhawks fought back and pulled to within a basket, 80-78, with five seconds remaining, but a pair of Stallworth free throws sealed the Morehead State win.
Leon Buchanan scored 15 points and Nikola Stojakovic added 10 points for the Eagles, who were 8-of-8 from the free throw line in the final minute.
Jaycen Herring scored a game-high 23 points for Southeast Missouri (11-10, 6-5), and Calvin Williams had 11.
It was Southeast Missouri’s fifth-straight loss after starting 6-0 in the OVC, while it was Morehead State’s fifth consecutive win.
