CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP)—Kyle Hines had 32 points and nine rebounds to lead UNC Greensboro to its first-ever win at the College of Charleston, 88-71, on Thursday night.
The Spartans (11-6, 5-3 Southern Conference) in their nine previous trips to John Kresse Arena. But with Hines’ touch—he made 14 of his 16 field goal attempts—UNC Greensboro took control quickly.
Hines had 12 first-half points to send the Spartans up 45-35 at the break and the Cougars (9-10, 4-5) could not come back.
It was Charleston’s most lopsided loss at Kresse Arena in 23 years since a 68-42 defeat to North Georgia on Nov. 23, 1985.
Kevin Oleksiak added 16 points off four 3-pointers for the Spartans.
Freshman Andrew Goudelock had 17 points to lead Charleston (9-10, 4-5), which has lost three of its past five games.
