YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP)—Carlos Medlock had 20 points to lead Eastern Michigan to a 68-44 Mid-American win over Toledo on Tuesday night.
Justin Dobbins added 14 and Zane Gay 10 for the Eagles (3-2, 7-10). Travis Lewis was the team’s leading rebounder with seven, while Jesse Bunkley had six assists.
Tyrone Kent led the Rockets (2-3, 5-12) with 16 and Jonathan Amos had nine.
Eastern Michigan led by as many as 27 with about six minutes left.
Eastern Michigan led 39-17 at the half.
Toledo managed only five points in the game’s first 10:07 and went scoreless for 6:11.
That allowed the Eagles to build a 24-5 lead after Tyler Jones’ layup with 10:18 left in the first half. Two free throws by Kent with 9:52 remaining in the half broke the Rockets’ scoreless spell.
Medlock got 14 of his points in the first half, including nine of Eastern Michigan’s last 13 of the half.
