NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP)—Bruce Price and Gerald Robinson both earned 20 points to help push Tennessee St. past E. Illinois 79-72 on Saturday.
LaDarious Weaver hit 15 points while Darius Cox added 10 points for Tennessee St. (8-10, 5-4 Ohio Valley), which had four players with double-digit scores.
E. Illinois (2-16, 1-9) held a slight lead over the Tigers at halftime, 35-34, but were outscored by Tennessee St. in the second half, 45-37. The Panthers largest lead was by 7 in the first half while the Tigers held their biggest lead, 14, in the second half.
Jon’Tee Willhite led the Panthers with 19 points and nine rebounds, and Bobby Catchings added 18 points and grabbed six rebounds. Ousmane Cisse also contributed double-digit scoring for E. Illinois, with 12 points and five rebounds.
