NEW YORK (AP)—Charron Fisher and Tyrone Lewis each scored 27 points and Niagara won its sixth straight, 96-86 over Manhattan on Saturday.
Benson Egemonye added a career-high 22 points along with 11 rebounds for the Purple Eagles (10-3, 4-0 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), off to their best start since the 1992-93 season.
Chris Smith scored 21 points for the Jaspers (7-6, 1-2). His 3-pointer with 1:37 left capped a 20-9 run that cut the lead to 88-80, but Manhattan got no closer.
Earlier, Lewis made a basket with 8:51 left for a 79-60 lead, the Purple Eagles’ largest of the game.
Antoine Pearson had 16 points, Rashad Green 14 and Andrew Gabriel 13 for the Jaspers.
