Scott and Quaintance lead Kent St to 84-69 win over Cleveland St
KENT, Ohio (AP)—Mike Scott and Haminn Quaintance each scored 17 points to lead Kent State to an 84-69 win Saturday night over Cleveland State.
Al Fisher added 15 points and Chris Singletary contributed 11, as ten different players scored for Kent State (10-2). The Golden Flashes shot over 58 percent from the field, and 50 percent (11-22) from behind the 3-point line.
Kent State opened up a 50-27 lead at halftime, which was a large enough cushion to secure an easy victory despite being outscored by Cleveland State (8-5) 42-34 in the second half.
Cedric Jackson and Joe Davis each scored 12 points for Cleveland State, who also had ten different players score.
The game had no ties or lead changes. Cleveland State shot only 23.5 percent (4-17) from behind the 3-point line.
