VESTAL, N.Y. (AP)—Lazar Trifunovic scored a game-high 23 points and had 10 rebounds to lead Binghamton over Chicago State 75-55 Saturday.
Chicago State guard David Holston, who came into the game averaging 23.5 points per game and shooting 45.5 percent on 3-pointers, led his team with 11 points on 1-for-10 shooting from beyond the arc. Tawrence Walton had 10 rebounds for the Cougars.
Binghamton (3-7) has now won two straight after losing seven of their first eight.
Binghamton controlled play from the start, opening with a 20-2 run during the first seven minutes. The Bearcats led by 22 points at halftime, and the Cougars (4-11) never got closer than 13 points in the second half.
The Bearcats were 2-of-11 on 3-pointers, while the Cougars were 6-of-26.
With Saturday’s win, Binghamton has now won two straight after losing seven of their first eight.
