Marshall 66, Princeton 60
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP)—Markel Humphrey scored 19 points and pulled down a game-high seven rebounds to lead Marshall to a 66-60 win over Princeton on Saturday.
Humphrey was quiet early, but connected on six of seven shots from the field and scored 13 in the second half. Tirrell Baines scored 10 for Marshall (6-3) and was the only other Thundering Herd player in double figures.
Marshall shot 59 percent in the first half and built a 32-22 lead by intermission. Princeton’s only lead came 25 seconds into the game.
Despite holding Marshall to its second lowest scoring total of the season, Princeton (2-9) could not shake its now nine-game losing streak.
Kyle Koncz led Princeton with 12 and Mike Strittmatter, Marcus Schroeder and Kevin Steuerer contributed 10 points each.
