CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP)—Nate Linhart scored 14 to lead Akron in a 64-55 victory over Austin Peay on Saturday.
The first half was anyone’s game as the lead changed three times and the teams tied four times. At the break, the score was 29-27 with Austin Peay in the lead.
But Akron (7-2) tied it up in the first seconds of the second half on a jumper by Linhart and never trailed after that.
Also contributing for Akron were Cedrick Middleton with 12 points, Nick Dials with 11 and Jeremiah Wood with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Leading Austin Peay (4-6) was Drake Reed with 17 points. The only other player in double digits was Fernandez Lockett with 10.
