DAYTON, Ohio (AP)—Freshman Chris Wright scored 16 points and grabbed 13 rebounds—his third double-double in seven games—to lead Dayton to a 68-54 victory Wednesday night over High Point.
The Flyers (6-1) built their lead to 61-42 when Andre Sandoval hit a 3-point basket with 8:36 remaining. The Panthers (3-4) then went on a 10-3 run capped by David Campbell’s 3-pointer to pull to 64-52 with 2:55 left but got no closer.
Mike Jefferson led high point with 18 points, while Dayton held Arizona Reid, who had been averaging 24 points a game, to 11 points.
Marcus Johnson added 12 points for the Flyers and Kurt Huelsman had 10.
