Lawrence scores 17 points as St. John’s routs Sacred Heart 76-49

NEW YORK (AP)—Eugene Lawrence scored 17 points to help St. John’s beat Sacred Heart 76-49 on Tuesday night.

Larry Wright had 16 points and Justin Burrell added 15 and 11 rebounds for the Red Storm (3-0).

Brice Brooks had eight points for the Pioneers (0-5).

St. John’s jumped out to a 10-0 lead as Wright scored seven points during the run. Liam Potter finally ended the spurt with a jumper, but the Red Storm then used a 13-4 surge to take control of the game.

They built the lead up to 48-21 at the half.
