LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP)—Jarvis Bradley got his first double double of the season for McNeese State on Tuesday as he scored 14 points and pulled 12 rebounds in a 65-49 victory over the University of Texas at Tyler.
Eleven Cowboys got into the scoring column in the game, with Diego Kapelan getting 12 points and John Ford adding 10. UT-Tyler’s only double figure scorer was Anthony Reese with 11 points.
It was the first meeting between the two schools.
UT-Tyler (1-2) held the early lead, going up by four points less than two minutes into the game, while the Cowboys held the largest lead, a 20-point advantage with two minutes left.
Bradley scored 10 of his points in the first half and Kapelan produced nine. McNeese held a 36-23 halftime lead and outscored the Patriots by three in the second half.
The Cowboys held a small lead in rebounding, 37-35, but blocked nine shots with Kleon Penn getting eight, only two shy of the school record.
