ATHENS, Ohio (AP)—Leon Williams grabbed 15 rebounds and scored 28 points, and two of his teammates scored more than 20, as Ohio used a strong second half run to beat Cornell 102-89 on Saturday.
Bubba Walther scored 25, including five three-pointers, and Jerome Tillman had 21 for the Bobcats (2-0).
Cornell (1-1) led by eight with 14:05 to play, but the Bobcats went on a 15-2 run to take a 75-70 lead and then pulled away from there.
Ohio scored 23 points off Cornell’s 17 turnovers, while the Big Red had 9 points off Ohio’s 8 turnovers.
Cornell spread out its scoring attack, as all five starters and one other player scored in double figures. Jason Hartford led the Big Red with 18 points, including four 3-pointers.
Ryan Wittman scored 17, Alex Tyler had 13, Adam Gore 12 and Louis Dale 11. Cornell’s Colin Robinson came off the bench to add 10 points.
Michael Allen and Justin Orr each had 11 points for Ohio.
