LaSalle edgest past Mount St. Mary’s 66-63

EMMITSBURG, Md. (AP)—Darnell Harris scored 12 points, including two free throws down the stretch, as LaSalle held off Mount St. Mary’s 66-63 Saturday night.

The Mount trailed 66-61 with eight seconds left after Harris hit the two free throws for La Salle (1-1). The Mount’s Jeremy Goode raced down court and scored a lay-up with 1.2 seconds on the clock to cut the deficit to 66-63, and La Salle turned the ball over on the inbounds pass, giving Mount St. Mary’s a chance to tie. However, Chris Vann’s three-point attempt at the buzzer was off the mark.

Vann had 21 points to lead Mount St. Mary’s (0-2). Yves Mbala Mekongo also had 12 points for LaSalle.
