INDIANAPOLIS (AP)—Jon Avery had 21 points and 10 rebounds and George Hill scored 19 as IUPUI beat sister school Indiana-South Bend 96-61 Monday night.
Gary Patterson had 17 and Austin Montgomery 11 for the host Jaguars (1-1). Adrian Moss dished out five assists.
Avery shot 8-of-11 from the floor and 5-of-11 from the free-throw line.
Terry Hill was the sole player in double figures for the Titans (2-3) with 17 points. The Titans shot 37 percent from the field while the Jaguars managed 47 percent.
Both teams shot 71 percent from the free-throw line.
