LEWISBURG, Pa. (AP)—Chris McNaughton scored 17 of his 23 points in the first half, leading Bucknell to a 73-63 victory over Towson on Saturday.
McNaughton shot 8-for-10 in the first half and finished with eight rebounds for Bucknell (18-8). John Griffith had four 3-pointers and scored 15 points, while teammate Abe Badmus turned in a solid defensive performance against Towson’s Gary Neal and added seven assists.
Neal, who leads the Tigers with a 25.5 scoring average, was limited to 21 points. He didn’t score a basket until the 15:40 mark of the second half, when the Bison led by 22 points. C.C. Williams added 12 points and Dennard Abraham had 11 for Towson (14-14).
Bucknell seized control midway through the first half, going on a 25-5 run and opening up a 15-point lead at the half.
The Bison led by 17 points late in the game, before Towson made a late run while its starters faced Bucknell’s reserves.
