BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP)—Casey Durham scored a career-high 20 points and picked up seven rebounds to lead Montana State to a 74-59 victory over Sacramento State Thursday night.
Montana State (10-14, 7-4 Big Sky) went on a 13-0 run in the first five minutes, but the Hornets rallied to tie the score at 18 with 7:33 left in the period.
Sacramento State (8-17, 3-9) capped its own 18-2 run with a layup by Davon Roberts to garner a four-point lead at 6:40, its largest lead of the night.
Montana State went on another long 21-3 run late in the half that included four 3-pointers by Casey Durham.
The Bobcats led by 10 going into the half and consistently increased their lead throughout the second period. They led by as much as 23 with 1:33 left to play.
Carlos Taylor added 16 points and five rebounds for the Bobcats, who remain tied for second in the Big Sky Conference.
Montana State out-rebounded Sacramento State 44-33 and held the Hornets to 34.5 percent shooting from the field.
Haron Hargrave led Sacramento State with 12 points and six steals. Angel Alamo added 10 points for the Hornets.
