CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP)—Randal Falker scored 19 points and grabbed 14 rebounds Wednesday night to lead Southern Illinois to a 61-48 victory over Indiana State.
Southern Illinois (18-5, 9-3 Missouri Valley) took control of the game from the start, holding the Sycamores to 5-of-16 shooting from the floor and taking a 35-19 lead at halftime.
Indiana State (11-9, 4-6) improved their shooting in the second half, outscoring the Salukis by three points, but not enough for the team to make up for the poor play in the first half.
Jamaal Tatum scored 15 points for the Salukis, with Tony Young adding 10.
Cole Holmstrom was the leading scorer for the Sycamores with 10.
