NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP)—Matt Kingsley had 22 points and a team-high eight rebounds in Stephen F. Austin’s 61-55 win against Nicholls State on Thursday night.
Kingsley was 6-of-11 from the field and hit 10-of-12 free throws. Chaz Dykes added 10 points, and Will Johnson came off the bench to score nine.
The Lumberjacks (8-5) led 28-27 at the break and went ahead for good with 17:53 remaining. They turned 16 Colonel turnovers into 20 points.
Stefan Blaszczynski led Nicholls State with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Justin Payne and Gil Verner added 10 points each. The Colonels (1-14) hit only 29 percent from the field.
