TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP)—Alonzo Gee was 12-for-14 from the field for a career-high 26 points and had nine rebounds to lead No. 10 Alabama to a 99-49 victory over Coppin State on Saturday.
The Crimson Tide (11-1) used an 11-0 run to take a 16-8 lead in the game’s opening eight minutes. Coppin State (2-9) scored five straight points to get within three points, but Alabama broke the game open with a 33-12 run and led 55-30 at halftime.
Alabama opened the second half on a 17-1 run to make it 72-31. Alabama matched the final 50-point lead two other times.
Richard Hendrix had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Tide, while Mykal Riley added 13 points.
Yamene Colemen had 10 rebounds and Demetrius Jemison followed with nine as Alabama finished with a 52-24 rebound advantage.
Tywain McKee led Coppin State with 12 points.
Alabama center Jermareo Davidson had six points and seven rebounds in 20 minutes.
