HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP)—James Barrett scored 27 points to lead Sam Houston State to an 89-73 win over Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Friday night.
Barrett, who played 20 minutes, also had seven rebounds and three blocks. He made nine-of-13 field goals and all three 3-point attempts.
Ryan Bright finished with 11 points, six rebounds three assists and two blocks for Sam Houston State (7-5). Aaron Wade came off the bench to score 15 points and grab eight rebounds in 18 minutes.
The Bearkats shot 58 percent on 3-pointers, led by Barrett and Wade, who was 4-of-4 from beyond the arc.
Avery Smith led the Panthers (2-11) with 18 points. Allan Hanson scored 10.
The Bearkats never trailed, jumping out to a 19-9 lead to open the game.
