Robert Morris 79, Youngstown St 78
CORAOPOLIS, Pa. (AP)—Tony Lee scored 16 of his 23 points in the second half to lead Robert Morris to a 79-78 win over Youngstown State on Saturday night.
Quin Humphrey had 25 points and Keston Roberts 23 for the Penguins (4-7), who had won two straight after a four-game losing streak. John Barber had 10 points and 10 rebounds for Youngstown State.
Freddie Harris had a career-high 16 points, and Jeremy Chappell 15 for Robert Morris (6-3). The Colonials six nonconference victories are their most since the 1989-90 season.
Robert Morris took the lead in the first five minutes of the game and never looked back. Youngstown State closed within 71-70 with 3:16 to left and got within 79-78 when Roberts hit a 3-pointer in the closing seconds.
Lee took the ensuing inbounds pass unguarded beyond the midcourt line to run out the clock.
Robert Morris led by as many as 14 with 13 minutes to play, but the Penguins went on a 9-1 run.
The Colonials shot 51.8 percent from the field. Seventeen of their 29 shots came off of assists.
