NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP)—Reiley Ervin led Tennessee State with 20 points, including six 3-pointers to lift the Tigers to a 59-56 win over Eastern Illinois on Saturday.
The Tigers (4-4) were also helped by Clarence Matthews with 18 points and 10 rebounds and Courtney Bohannon with 10 points and six rebounds. Larry Turner pulled down 14 rebounds.
Eastern Illinois (4-6) held a 27-22 lead at the end of the first half, shooting 36 percent from the field to Tennessee State’s 29 percent.
But Tennessee State improved enough in the second half to give the Tigers, shooting 39 percent to Eastern Illinois’ 33 percent, a win.
Mike Robinson led the Panthers with 15 points, followed by Romain Martin with 13.
