DAYTON, Ohio (AP)—Monty Scott scored 11 of his 13 points in the closing minutes to help Dayton hold off Creighton 60-54 Wednesday night.
Norman Plummer also scored 13 points and Brian Roberts added 11 for the Flyers (7-1). Dayton blew a 13-point lead in the first five minutes of the second half, but still won thanks to Scott.
The senior forward scored 11 straight points for Dayton late in the game on three 3-pointers and a jumper, with the final 3 giving the Flyers a 57-50 lead with 1:14 to play.
Nate Funk led the Bluejays (3-2) with 15 points. Anthony Tolliver had 13 points and 13 rebounds.
The Bluejays opened the second half on a 15-2 run to erase a 32-19 deficit. They tied the score at 34 and 36, but never took the lead.
Creighton shot only 37 percent from the field to 48 percent for Dayton. The Flyers hit 13-of-26 shots in the first half, while the Bluejays hit on only 7-of-23 attempts.
