BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. (AP)—Thomas Sanders scored 12 points and finished with a career-high 13 rebounds Wednesday to help Gardner-Webb defeat Ferrum 70-53.
Chris Gash added 13 points for the Runnin’ Bulldogs (1-5), who pulled out the win despite turning over the ball 16 times and making only 9-of-19 free throws. Sanders, coming off the bench, was 6-of-9 shooting.
Keith Harris scored a game-high 17 points and pulled down seven rebounds for the Panthers (3-3), while Cedric Jones added 13 points and five rebounds. Ferrum was only 4-for-25 on 3-point attempts and shot just 32.8 percent.
Gardner-Webb led 37-28 at the half.
