DENTON, Texas (AP)—Michael Sturns scored 17 points and was one of five North Texas players in double figures as the Mean Green beat Texas State 95-77 on Saturday night.
Keith Wooden scored 15, Harold Stewart had 13, Rich Young added 11 and Quincy Williams had 10 for North Texas (5-1).
Dylan Moseley and Charles Dotson led Texas State (1-4) with 16 points each.
Sturns made 10 of 11 shots from the foul line, only three fewer than the entire Texas State team. In all, North Texas attempted 42 free throws to the Bobcats’ 17.
